This Grade II listed building has a rich history, having been home to notable figures such as Elizabeth Doughty and the Cook baronets. The house features a 125-foot-long gallery added in 1885 to showcase an important art collection. The first Lady Cook, Tennessee Claflin, was a pioneering American suffragist who lived there. The property has undergone various changes, including damage during World War II, and was sold in 2013 for renovation. Doughty House is not only a historical site but also a testament to the artistic legacy of its former residents.
