Chucalissa Archaeological Park (Mississippian mounds)

Chucalissa is a Mississippian-period village and archaeological museum on the University of Memphis campus where excavations uncovered platform mounds, a central plaza, and domestic features. Artifacts and radiocarbon dates associate the site with occupation roughly 1000–1450 CE. The site has been the focus of systematic archaeological research and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
