Cyrus Dallin's 'Appeal to the Great Spirit' sculpture

'Appeal to the Great Spirit' is a bronze equestrian sculpture by Cyrus E. Dallin located on the plaza of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Dallin completed the composition in 1908 and the cast at the MFA was installed in 1912. The work is a widely recognized early-20th-century public sculpture representing a Native American figure and has been the subject of art-historical study and reproduction. The sculpture remains a permanent outdoor feature of the museum's Huntington Avenue entrance.
