Hose No. 2

Hose No. 2 is a historic former fire station located in the Lower Falls area of Yarmouth, Maine, built around 1889. This unique building is situated on a wedge-shaped plot between Main Street and Marina Road, in an area once known as Staples Hill. At the turn of the 20th century, Yarmouth boasted two hose companies and a hook and ladder company, reflecting the town's commitment to fire safety as it began to install its first fire hydrants and alarm systems. This site offers a glimpse into the town's early firefighting history and architectural heritage.
