Bretton Hall (Manhattan)

Bretton Hall is a historic twelve-story residential building located at 2350 Broadway on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City. Originally completed in 1903 as the Hotel Bretton Hall, it was once the largest hotel uptown and featured modern amenities for its time, including fireproof construction and multiple elevators. Designed by architect Harry B. Mulliken, the building showcases Beaux Arts architecture with ornamental balconies and a distinctive facade. Over the years, it has transitioned from a hotel to residential apartments, currently housing 461 rental units. Notably, in the early 1980s, it provided affordable housing for artists, fostering cultural activities within its walls. Today, Bretton Hall stands as a testament to early 20th-century architecture and urban living, situated near the scenic Riverside-West End Historic District.
