T. C. Steele State Historic Site

The T. C. Steele State Historic Site, located in Brown County, Indiana, is the former home and studio of renowned artist Theodore Clement Steele, a key figure in the Hoosier Group of American impressionist painters. Established on 211 acres of scenic land, the site features guided tours of the artist's home, a large studio, and beautifully landscaped gardens. Visitors can explore the history of Steele's life and work, as well as enjoy five hiking trails and a nature preserve. The site, named the House of the Singing Winds, is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday, offering a glimpse into the artistic legacy of one of Indiana's most celebrated artists.
