Project Row Houses

Project Row Houses is a community-based arts and cultural organization in Houston’s Third Ward that repurposed a block of historic shotgun houses into art spaces and community services. Founded by artists including Rick Lowe, the project integrates art installations with social programs such as early childhood education and housing initiatives for single mothers. It is recognized for using arts practice as a strategy for neighborhood revitalization rooted in local Black history and culture. The site functions as both an arts venue and a long-term community development project.
