Mission San José carved limestone 'Rose Window'

Mission San José, part of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, features a carved limestone 'Rose Window'-an 18th-century rosette carved in the mission's stone facade that is widely noted as an example of colonial-era stonework. The mission complex is constructed primarily of native limestone and contains multiple original carved stone elements that have been documented and restored by the National Park Service. Mission San José is included in the San Antonio Missions UNESCO World Heritage site.
