The Alamo (San Antonio Mission)

The Alamo mission and its plaza have been used as a filming location for feature films recreating the 1836 Battle of the Alamo. The site appears in the 1960 John Wayne production The Alamo and was used again for on-location shooting in the 2004 feature film The Alamo. Filmmakers have staged exterior and plaza scenes at the historic mission and nearby streets to depict the historic siege. The mission remains a frequently cited real-world landmark for films about the Texas Revolution.
