Sutro Baths ruins at Lands End

Sutro Baths was a large public saltwater swimming complex built by Adolph Sutro in 1896; the structure burned and partially collapsed in 1966 and its concrete ruins remain at Lands End. The ruins and the surrounding coastal cliffs are a popular subject for photographers and widely circulated images showing the Pacific shoreline and views toward the Golden Gate. Public trails and the Lands End Lookout provide access to the site and interpretive information.
