Bride's Hill

Bride's Hill, also known as Sunnybrook, is a historic plantation house located near Wheeler, Alabama. This significant example of Tidewater-type architecture was built by a member of the Dandridge family, relatives of Martha Washington. The house features a unique design with a broad central hall, a graceful stairway, and prominent end chimneys. It was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 1985 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Although unoccupied since the 1980s and in disrepair, Bride's Hill offers a glimpse into early Alabama plantation life and architecture, making it an intriguing site for tourists and researchers alike.
