Witherspoon Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, No. 111

Witherspoon Lodge No. 111, located at 1410 North Clayton Street in Mount Dora, Florida, is a historic building recognized for its significance in the local community. Added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2009, this site was originally established as a Masonic lodge in 1903 and has a rich history, including serving as a school for African-American children from 1922 to 1925. Built around 1921, the lodge reflects the Prince Hall tradition and has played an important role in the social and educational development of the area.
