Plumptre Hospital

Plumptre Hospital, established in 1392 by John de Plumptre, is a historic almshouse in Nottingham, England, that provided accommodation for the poor for over 599 years. Initially supporting thirteen widows, the hospital underwent several renovations and expansions, notably in 1650 and 1751, to improve the living conditions of its residents. The building of 1823 now serves as a site of historical significance, having transitioned to the Royal National Institute for the Blind in 2001.
