Eltzer Hof

Eltzer Hof, a historic music venue in Mainz, Germany, was built in 1742 in a rare Baroque style. Originally commissioned by the Eltz dynasty, it features a three-storey structure with a hipped mansard roof and distinctive baroque portals. The venue has a rich history, including visits from notable figures like Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Although it was repurposed for events such as the Mainz carnival in the 1960s, the building suffered significant damage during World War II and later faced renovation challenges due to asbestos contamination. Recent efforts have focused on transforming the site into a multifunctional venue, with renovations ongoing since 2018, preserving its historic façades while modernizing the interior for future use.
