John Gehman Farm

The John Gehman Farm is a historic farm complex located in Hereford Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, recognized for its rich heritage and architectural significance. This national historic district features seven contributing buildings, including a 2+1⁄2-story stone and log Swiss bank house dating back to 1767, a stone Pennsylvania bank barn from 1806, and a vernacular stone farmhouse from around 1810. The farm was owned by the Gehman family, of German descent, for nearly 180 years, until 1945. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in early American agricultural history and architecture.
