Radnor Lake - example of karst sinkhole topography

Radnor Lake State Natural Area preserves a natural lake and surrounding terrain formed on limestone bedrock typical of the Nashville Basin. The lake and its steep banks display karst-related features-limited surface drainage, springs, and localized sinkhole development-common to the region’s Ordovician limestone. Radnor Lake is managed as a protected natural area with trails that expose these geological characteristics to visitors.
