Death of Jack Ruby at Parkland Memorial Hospital

Jack Ruby, who fatally shot Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963, was convicted of murder and later died on January 3, 1967. Ruby died at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas while undergoing treatment; the recorded cause of death was a pulmonary embolism secondary to lung cancer. His death occurred in the same city and hospital closely associated with events following the JFK assassination.
