Freer Gallery of Art - houses James McNeill Whistler's Peacock Room

The Freer Gallery of Art, founded on the collection of Charles Lang Freer, houses James McNeill Whistler's decorative interior known as The Peacock Room. The museum specializes in American and Asian art and is part of the Smithsonian Institution. The Freer also holds Freer's extensive collection of Asian ceramics, paintings, and metalwork and presents related exhibitions and scholarly programs.
