Lal Durbar

Lal Durbar is a stunning Rana palace located in Kathmandu, Nepal, built in 1890 CE by Bir Shamsher JBR for his youngest wife, Topkumari Devi. This expansive palace complex features a remarkable array of courtyards, gardens, and buildings, covering an area of 300 ropani. The palace has a rich history, having been inherited by Bir Shamsher's son, Tej Shumsher, and later seized during a power struggle, only to be reclaimed by Tej Shumsher's descendants after the end of the Rana rule in 1951. Its architectural grandeur and historical significance make it a fascinating site for tourists and researchers alike.
