Wieboldt-Rostone House

The Wieboldt-Rostone House, located in the Century of Progress Architectural District in Beverly Shores, Indiana, is a historic building constructed in 1933. This unique home was framed in steel and clad with a synthetic stone called Rostone, designed to showcase innovative building materials. Although it was marketed as maintenance-free, the house required renovations by the 1950s. Originally part of the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition, it was moved to its current lakefront location in Beverly Shores in 1935. Restoration efforts began in 1997, highlighting its architectural significance and connection to the history of American innovation during the Great Depression.
