Charging Bull (Arturo Di Modica)

Charging Bull is a 7,100-pound bronze sculpture created by Arturo Di Modica and clandestinely installed in front of the New York Stock Exchange on December 15, 1989 as a gift to the city. The work was subsequently placed at Bowling Green, where it has stood as a prominent public artwork and tourist attraction. Di Modica funded and produced the sculpture in the wake of the 1987 stock market crash as an emblem of financial strength and resilience.
