The Mill (building)

The Mill is a striking 23-storey mixed-use development located on the Ipswich Waterfront in Suffolk, England. Standing at 71 metres, it is the tallest building in Ipswich and Suffolk, featuring 215 flats and a commercial unit across two buildings, including the main white tower and The Mill House. Designed by John Lyall Architects, it was intended to be a landmark structure, but has faced significant challenges, including safety concerns over its cladding and financial difficulties during its development. The building's design incorporates a central courtyard and is home to the Jerwood Dancehouse. Recent plans for redevelopment aim to address structural issues and enhance the living conditions for residents, making it a focal point of ongoing urban renewal efforts in the area.
