Liberty Hotel - adaptive reuse of Charles Street Jail

The Liberty Hotel occupies the former Charles Street Jail, a mid-19th-century penal building designed by Gridley J.F. Bryant, and opened as a hotel in 2007 after an adaptive-reuse conversion. The project preserved key architectural features of the jail, including the central rotunda and cell blocks, while converting the interior to hospitality uses.
