Schenley Park Casino

The Schenley Park Casino, operational from 1895 to 1896, was Pittsburgh's first multi-purpose arena, renowned for its luxurious amenities and as a hub for sports and entertainment. Located at the entrance of Schenley Park, it featured the first artificial ice surface in North America and hosted the city's inaugural organized ice hockey game. The casino boasted a grand theater, luxury boxes, and a lavish roof garden, attracting prominent figures from various industries. Unfortunately, a catastrophic fire in 1896 led to its destruction, but its legacy as a pioneering venue in sports history remains significant.
