Nathaniel Cowdry House

The Nathaniel Cowdry House, located at 71 Prospect Street in Wakefield, Massachusetts, is a historic structure built around 1764, making it one of the town's oldest buildings. This 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house features a rubblestone foundation, a side-gable roof, and a central chimney, showcasing a blend of Georgian architectural elements. Notably, it has been preserved with original interior features such as batten doors and a plaster ceiling. The house was built by Nathaniel Cowdry, a member of a prominent local family, and remained in the Cowdry family until 1866. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, highlighting its significance in the region's history and architecture.
