Nasher Sculpture Center (Renzo Piano)

The Nasher Sculpture Center, designed by architect Renzo Piano and opened in 2003, houses a significant collection of modern and contemporary sculpture in a museum building noted for its diffused natural light and minimalist galleries. The museum's design includes a long, enclosed courtyard garden landscaped by Peter Walker that integrates indoor and outdoor sculpture viewing. Its glass-and-steel roof and thin-profile galleries were intended to create neutral lighting conditions favorable for sculptural display.
