The Woodlands historic estate and cemetery

The Woodlands is a 54‑acre historic estate, mansion, cemetery, and arboretum at Woodland Avenue that was the country seat of William Hamilton (1745–1813) and is designated a National Historic Landmark. The site contains 18th‑ and 19th‑century funerary monuments, family vaults, and an historic mansion set back from the road amid mature trees. Because the grounds are expansive and largely residential in feel, individual monuments and the mansion can be easy for casual passersby to overlook.
