New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum

The New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum interprets the history of the 19th-century mercury (quicksilver) mines at New Almaden, which were among the most productive in California. Located within Almaden Quicksilver County Park, the museum and surrounding historic structures preserve artifacts, miners' cabins, and equipment associated with the mining community. The site documents the industrial, social, and environmental history of mining in the Almaden neighborhood of San Jose.
