Grand Hotel (Locarno)

The Grand Hotel in Locarno, Switzerland, is a historic hotel that first opened its doors in 1876, coinciding with the development of local transport infrastructure. Designed by Francesco Galli, it featured a funicular station until its closure in 2005. The hotel is renowned for its magnificent Murano chandelier, once deemed the largest in Europe. After years of proposed restorations, a major renovation project began in 2022, aiming to transform the hotel into a luxurious 5-star destination with three restaurants, set to reopen in 2025.
