Moore Hall (Phoenixville, Pennsylvania)

Moore Hall, also known as the William Moore House, is a historic Georgian-style home located in Schuylkill Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Dating back to approximately 1722, this fieldstone dwelling features a gable roof, a two-story rear kitchen wing, and a sun porch. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Notably, during the American Revolution, it served as headquarters for Colonel Clement Biddle and hosted a congressional committee that appointed George Washington as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army. In the early 1900s, it was the summer residence of Pennsylvania Governor Samuel W. Pennypacker, making it a significant site for both history enthusiasts and tourists.
