Rand Building (Huntsville, Alabama)

The Rand Building, constructed in 1883, is a historic commercial structure located in Huntsville, Alabama. It showcases a simplified Italianate architectural style, characteristic of late 19th-century small towns. This two-story green-painted brick building features an ornate bracketed metal cornice and large fixed windows at street level, complemented by a central recessed entry. The second floor boasts elegant sash windows with segmental arched tops. As one of the few remaining Italianate buildings in the area, it contributes to the historical charm of Courthouse Square and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it a noteworthy site for tourists and researchers alike.
