de Young Museum observation (Hamon) Tower

The de Young Museum at 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr was rebuilt and reopened in 2005; its Hamon Tower is a publicly accessible observation tower rising approximately 144 feet that provides panoramic views across Golden Gate Park and the city. The de Young traces its origins to the 1894 California Midwinter International Exposition and the current building is part of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. The tower and museum are a noted elevated viewpoint within the park.
