Cochin House

Cochin House, formerly the residence of the Maharaja of Cochin, is a historic building located in New Delhi's Lutyens’ Bungalow Zone. Constructed between 1903 and 1911, it showcases early 20th-century architecture with red brick facades, classical porticoes, and high ceilings designed for ventilation. Originally known as 'Vykunt', it served as a city residence for the Maharaja during the Chamber of Princes and later hosted war offices during World War II. After Indian independence, it became part of the Kerala House complex, functioning as the office of the Resident Commissioner. The building is notable for its symmetrical design and traditional materials, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
