Christian Iutzi Farm

Christian Iutzi Farm is a historic site located near Trenton, Ohio, notable for being the oldest surviving house built by a member of the Amish Mennonite community. Constructed in the early 19th century, this two-story brick farmhouse features a unique off-center entry and rests on a rubble stone foundation. Established by Christian Iutzi, who immigrated from Germany in 1832, the farm was named Middlehof, reflecting his heritage. The property is significant for its connection to the Hessian Mennonite congregation, which separated from the Augspurger Amish in 1835. Recognized for its historical importance, the farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it a valuable destination for tourists and researchers interested in American religious history and architecture.
