Growstown School

The Growstown School, a historic one-room schoolhouse built in 1849 in Brunswick, Maine, offers a glimpse into 19th-century education. Saved from demolition in 1971, it has been restored and serves as a living history center where fifth-grade students from across Maine can experience school life as it was in the 1850s, without modern conveniences. The school is the last of its kind in Brunswick, once part of a network of twenty-six, and continues to engage the community with its rich history and educational programs.
