Masonic Temple (Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania)

Designed by architect James H. Windrim and constructed in the late 1860s–1870s, the Masonic Temple on North Broad Street is a richly ornamented civic building of Victorian-era design. The interior contains multiple lodge rooms, each decorated in a distinct historic or exotic style, commissioned and furnished by different Philadelphia Masonic lodges. The building serves as headquarters for the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania and offers public tours that interpret its architectural and fraternal history. Its elaborate exterior carving and sculptural program are prominent examples of 19th-century craftsmanship.
