Dallas Arboretum and the DeGolyer Estate

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden sits on the 66-acre site of the former DeGolyer Estate, the home of oil geologist and philanthropist Everette Lee DeGolyer. The historic DeGolyer House and surrounding landscaped grounds were incorporated into the public arboretum when it opened to visitors. The site preserves the estate's early-20th-century mansion and formal gardens as part of the arboretum's collections and programs.
