Olivetti Building (Sydney)

The Olivetti Building, also known as the Olivetti House, is a striking example of brutalist architecture located at 140 William Street in Woolloomooloo, Sydney. Completed in 1973, this commercial building was designed to serve as the Australian headquarters for the Italian multinational company Olivetti. With a total floor space of 7,000 square metres, it features a ground level showroom, a lower-ground office, and eight levels of offices, all highlighted by its distinctive exposed aggregate concrete facade. The building's history includes a notable sale attempt in 1988 that fell through, leading to its eventual sale in 1998 for AUD$9.5 million. Its unique architectural style and historical significance make it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
