2017 Route 91/Mandalay Bay mass shooting

On October 1, 2017, gunman Stephen Paddock fired from his suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel into the crowd at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip. The attack killed 60 concertgoers and injured hundreds of others, making it the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. Paddock was found dead in his hotel room; investigators never conclusively determined a motive.
