TD Garden is integrated with North Station transit hub

TD Garden (opened 1995 as the FleetCenter) was constructed adjacent to and integrated with North Station, placing the arena directly above the MBTA's North Station commuter rail and subway facilities. This design provides direct public-transit access to the home arena of the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins and has been a central feature of the venue since its opening. The connection between arena and transit is repeatedly noted in planning and transportation documentation for the North Station area.
