Vilkėnas Manor

Vilkėnas Manor, located in Vilkėnas Village, Švėkšna, Lithuania, is a historic estate with roots dating back to the 17th century. Initially part of the larger Švėkšna Estate, it became independent in 1820 when Count Jerzy Broël-Plater divided the estate among his sons. The manor house, built in the Neo-Renaissance style between 1880 and 1897 by Aleksander Broël-Plater, features a striking tower and is surrounded by a 13-hectare park with diverse tree species. The estate has a rich history, including connections to the Broël-Plater family, who were influential Polish counts, and has seen significant events through World War I and II. After being nationalized during the Soviet era, the manor fell into disrepair but was returned to the family in 1993. Today, it stands as a testament to Lithuania's noble heritage and offers a glimpse into the past for visitors and researchers alike.
