Wilby High School (1920 building)

Wilby High School, located at 260 Grove Street in Waterbury, Connecticut, is a historic school building notable for its Tudor Gothic architecture. Constructed between 1917 and 1920, it is one of the city's oldest surviving secondary school buildings. The school was designed by prominent architect Louis A. Walsh and served educational purposes until 1978. The building features a unique 'hollow square' interior layout and is set on a sloping hillside, making it architecturally distinctive. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and has since been repurposed for residential use, offering a glimpse into the educational history of Waterbury.
