Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens

Bayou Bend was the former home of philanthropist Ima Hogg and was designed by architect John F. Staub in the 1920s and 1930s as a country house on a large estate. The house and its surrounding gardens were donated to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and opened to the public as a decorative arts museum and historic house in 1966. Bayou Bend is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and interprets American decorative arts within the historic interiors and formal gardens. The site remains a notable example of early 20th-century Texas residential architecture and landscape design.
