Larrabee's Brick Block

Larrabee's Brick Block is a historic commercial and residential building located at 500–504 Main Street in Melrose, Massachusetts. Constructed in 1880, it is one of the few unaltered 19th-century commercial buildings in the area, showcasing a distinctive Second Empire architectural style with a mansard roof. The building features two storefronts on the ground floor, adorned with plate glass windows and recessed entrances, while the upper residential floors are accessed through a separate entrance. The interior retains original finishes, including tin ceilings, maple flooring, and detailed woodwork. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it a noteworthy stop for tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
