The Women's Building and the MaestraPeace mural

The Women's Building at 3543 18th Street houses the MaestraPeace mural, a large community-created mural completed in 1994 by seven women artists. The mural celebrates women’s contributions across cultures and has become a widely recognized symbol of Mission District community activism and feminist art in San Francisco.
