Stone Post Office

The Stone Post Office, also known as the Blackwell Building, is a historic site in Jackson, Michigan, recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 1972. Originally built in 1839 by businessman Joseph G.R. Blackwell, this two-story sandstone structure served as a general store before becoming the town's post office until 1894. As Jackson expanded, the building was overshadowed by larger constructions and has since been repurposed for commercial use. Visitors can appreciate its architectural features, including six pillars and boarded-up windows, while exploring the rich history of Jackson's development.
