Shofuso Japanese House and Garden

Shofuso is a traditional-style Japanese house and garden located in West Fairmount Park that was reassembled in Philadelphia in 1958 as a symbol of postwar cultural exchange. The site represents 17th-century shoin-zukuri architectural influences and includes a tea house, shoin (reception room), and a landscaped garden designed for seasonal viewing. It operates as a museum and cultural center hosting tours, tea ceremonies, and educational programs about Japanese art and garden design.
