La Casa Alvarado

La Casa Alvarado, also known as the Alvarado Adobe, is a historic adobe house built in 1840 in Pomona, California. It is situated on a portion of the historic Rancho San Jose and has a rich history, serving as a chapel and the site of the first public school classes in the Pomona Valley. The house has had only three owners in over 120 years and was designated a historic landmark in 1954, later added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Although it remains a private residence and is not open to the public, its historical significance and unique architecture make it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
