Shirley-Eustis House - one of the few surviving colonial governors' mansions

The Shirley-Eustis House in Roxbury was built in the mid-18th century as the country house of colonial Massachusetts Governor William Shirley and is one of only four surviving colonial governors' mansions in the United States. The house's Georgian architecture and surviving period features make it an uncommon example of high-style colonial domestic architecture in Boston. It has been restored and operates as a historic house museum interpreting colonial and early American gubernatorial life.
