Mission San Francisco de Asís (Mission Dolores)

Founded in 1776, Mission Dolores (Mission San Francisco de Asís) is the oldest surviving structure and European-established mission complex in San Francisco. The site includes the 18th-century adobe chapel and later basilica, illustrating Spanish colonial mission construction and early civil infrastructure in the region. The mission’s cemetery and buildings document early settlement patterns and infrastructure predating American control of California.
